I am ze best of ze best of ze best!

I hear that action movies are bringing more profit because they are easier to translate on any language (what a surprise) and therefore, production companies make more money out of these movies and therefore, make more of them. In case you were wondering, this is how these action movies and heroes are understood in Russia. This is a comedy skit about Silvester Stallone and Schwarzenegger .

life is ...like climbing ...

It is so interesting how you can discover Life Rules/Lessons/Strategies etc. in almost everything you do. Be it surfing (go with the flow or don't get into the water when the waves are too big), fishing (be patient) or farming (wash your hands after working with pigs). Personally, through my dance classes, I learned that beauty is in details. Today, I came across this TED talk and just thought I'd share the lessons this man learned in his life. I give you an advertiser and a rock climber with 35 years of experience - Matthew Childs. I don't think I'll ever be courageous enough to climb anything as high as this guy did so here are his 9 rules for life:
  1. don't let go
  2. hesitation is bad
  3. have a plan
  4. the move is the end
  5. know how to rest
  6. fear really sucks
  7. opposites are good
  8. strength does not always means success
  9. know how to let go
I really liked number four. It is true that sometimes, we spend all our time thinking and planning how to get through the hard part in life and when we are done, we don't really know what to do with ourselves. It's good to have the "moves" for the after-bad-part times.

For the Ladies...

Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess
Blueberry Girl

......Dull days at forty, false friends at fifteen;
Let her have brave days and truth.
Let her go places that we've never been;
Trust and delight in her youth.

Ladies of Grace, and Ladies of Favour,
And Ladies of Merciful Night,
This is a prayer for a Blueberry Girl,
Grant her your Clearness of Sight.

Words can be worrisome, people complex;
Motives and manners unclear.
Grant her the wisdom to choose her path right,
Free from unkindness and fear.

Let her tell stories, and dance in the rain,
Somersaults, tumble and run;
Her joys must be high as her sorrows are deep,
Let her grow like a weed in the sun...

talk to me

I was thinking about your language today...whatever it might be English, Chinese, Russian, maybe you talk through comedy or maybe you talk through the expressions of your eyes... I want to understand. I want to be better at it. Why do you write what you write, how did you feel when you painted that picture, did the photography image an equivalent of your realization of beauty? Why do you shrug your shoulders like this? What makes you laugh? I admire people who open up, who communicate and who are not afraid to express themselves. Just the way they are, open for misunderstanding and misinterpretation...
