A Little Poem for Your Christmas!

Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace?
Or a Cricut, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that's when I heard him,
"Hi Santa, " I said
"You know....good little girls
should be in their beds."
"I know I should Santa,
and now I've got caught.
But I was just so excited
To see what you brought."
"Well, let's take a look
in this room where you work.
He shook his head quickly,
And left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim
as he put it in gear.
"You've got enough crap,
I'll see you next year!":)

Happy St. Nicholas! Part II

I knew it! I KNEW IT!

told you my dad was also a St. Nicholas!
I just got an evidence from a trusted source that he is a close friend with Ded Moroz as well (Father Frost A.K.A Claus) and if that's not enough... my sister is helping him!

See for yourself!

Happy St. Nicholas!

If you just can't wait for Christmas - in Ukraine you don't have to because we also celebrate Den Sviatogo Mykolaya or St. Nicholas day when all the kids wake up with some presents UNDER THEIR PILLOW! I remember when I was little I just could not wait for this day because my dad ( whose name is also Nikolai or Nick, which means that this is his saint and his day or at the same time he himself could be St. Nick or his very close friend...:)) would find the way to sneak a bunch of presents under my pillow while I was sleeping and I would wake up glowing with happiness from all the new toys. It was magic! What is also magic that even though my dad is miles away, St. Nicholas definitely found a few ways to surprise me this year!

Hope today is also magic for you!

More more more Muzik!

I have been a huge fan of Pandora Radio for a few years now. I love it because I get tired of the same music very quickly and therefore don't feel like spending much money on it. On Pandora I have over 20 stations now with all different styles that self generate and add new artists to the play list according to my taste:) One problem with Pandora was during the Christmas season. How do you create a holiday playlist when the music is chosen not by the theme but by the style. I remember, I tried to put together such playlist for a corporate Christmas party - it was a disaster! A random collection of the most annoying Christmas tunes in the world. Good thing my boss had a sense of humor. This year they finally came to their senses andcreated a few different holiday stations. HERE Now I can play them all holiday long and still will hear more new music than any of your iTunes collections hold:p

I run alone

Today again I had one of those moments when running became easy. The music was hitting the right buttons of my mood, the temperature was just perfect, when you have to actually run for about half an hour to feel warm and I didn't need to take too many walking breaks. I was singing out laud, thought about some funny moments from the last couple of days and smiled at other runners. I love running by myself. I ONLY run outside. I love running without agenda, without a plan. It's my personal adventure, I run where I feel like and stop when I cant run anymore. I am not training for anything, but I know I'm getting better and the better I get the more fun I have. The rhythm moves me and I adjust my speed and imagine myself in a video where I am running through the hills and valleys and my legs never get tired and I almost fly... Running for me is that hour ... or two of Me time when I think and make important decisions. Its my hour of creativity, connection with nature and the time when I summarize things:)

My friend told me this story the other day about one nazi experiment, don't know if it true but it just got me thinking. So nazi told a bunch of people that they will kill them by cutting their wrists and have them bleed to death. In reality they blindfolded them, swiped a block of ice on their wrist and let it melt, making them feel like bleeding - all of the people in the group died. Human mind is a powerful tool and can really help or damage things but I didn't realize it can kill like that. But you can see how it works when you are getting sick with a cold but you are all optimistic because you really want to go to party or something and you do everything possible to heal. Usually it takes a day or two and things get back to normal. Sometimes there is no party to go to and something happened to put you down and you just don't care and this kind of mindset puts you in bed for weeks with a stupid cold. And it's not always cold that keeps you feeling sick. There is a number of books written about how we can program our life by positive thinking and creating an image of whatever we want to have. All it takes is THINKING. Why is it so hard sometimes? Why people fall down and are not able to smile? Maybe sometimes we just need to stare at the wall for 5 hours straight and sometimes we need to put on our fake smile and force our thoughts to fly in the land of golden sand and tropical sunsets. (wait, that is a nice image right there) Maybe its just part of life - having an opposition in all things and timing for all things. It makes our life more interesting...as long as we don't let our brain kill our heart.
