One very wise woman told me that when we are feeling down, it is useful to create a mental image of how we are in the state of happiness. We need to imagine how our face looks, how we move, what we wear, how we talk when we are completely happy and so on. As we all know, our thoughts have a tendency to materialize and so if we remind ourselves about such a happy image, we just might end up looking like that:)
Fake it till you make it.
Using this similar idea of creating reality through imagination Absolut Vodka has produced an Ad campaign for Mexico to create a strong emotional connection between the national dreams and an alcoholic substance. This Swedish company with a very Russian name has been rocking the world with their creativity for many years but I guess they just made one step too far. They had to pull out the ad shortly after it caused some serious debate and led to the appearance in the every major news source.

No wonder, people in Oregon and Washington are offended because they were not part of this dream picture. Are they just not good enough? And the rest of the US would have to think about the longer boarder. Who would pay for it? Absolute Vodka?
Advertising agency TBWA is an author of this ad campaign in which Mexican "Resetting Mexican Boarders to 1845" was definitely the strongest. The one targeted for California has the map of
California divided in two states, on the north - California and on the south - South California. I wonder what would the maps look like if the ad was created for Russia or Ukraine. I bet the first one would have a world map in red and for Ukraine... well I guess we would be part of EU and NATO.
They would not even have to work on the mental image of the happiness state... all it would take is a bottle of vodka... oh wait, that is what they do at home anyways.
